Database Servers
A Database server is not a role that is configured using the Configure Your Server wizard, it is any server that runs a network database application, such as Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL. Database servers are used to store and manage databases and to provide data access for authorised users. They keep data in a central location that can be regularly backed up. Several databases can be kept on a single server or a group of servers specifically configured to protect data and service client requests.
